Who? What? Where? Why?
Anytime i'm compelled to pass judgement or make a rational decision...i ask myself those 4 questions. In times of 1 too many cranberry vodkas or the need to "just be me" I find myself throwing caution to the wind and work the 'you only live once' angle. So here's me...I say, screw it! I'm the girl that does the Roger Rabbit at my cousins wedding, i'll move 5000 miles from home just to be different, and then i'll find myself wondering- what the hell did I get myself in to?

ReplyDeleteLOVE it! :) Alright, I know what I am: I'm a Reformed Supermodel! :) I used to pretned to care about the exterior, then, I realized, no one who matters really cares about the exterior. Family and friends are most important. In that sense, you can say I'm a bit of Jennifer Anniston AND Angelina Jolie (although, it's really dirty to break up a marriage, PERIOD.). xo Lili

You touched on two key issues I've lived by:1) you only live once- but i made an addendum...you only live once...so don't do things to f-up your life- you'll spend the rest of your life undoing those mistakes;2) be different- when others zig, i zag, when they zag, i zig...i hate following a crowd- be different and be yourself-you'll be forever happy. Les, if you got my book and read the intro then you know my other mantra- "help others"- whatever you do in life -ask yourself that question am i helping others. thanks for the great blog LES! looking forward to your book!

ReplyDeletei share the same dilema here in LA ..be myself or recreate to fit in with the Angelenos ..i say ..i'm too old to care ..i've lived in Manhattan for 14 yrs ..i'm an aggressive Manhattanite that's straightforward & direct ..as opposed to the passive aggressive Angeleno ..i am who i am ..if i offend people ..what can i say ..love me or leave me alone ..i go in with that New York mentality that's been drilled in my skull since i was an 18 yr old punk sharing a tiny studio apt with Em ..treat people accordingly ..you show me love ..i show you love ..if not ..keep it moving ..an approach that might not make you the mayor ..but fuck it ..i don't care to politic anyways ..i can't please everyone ..that's the New York in me ..i have enough friends that love me ..they might be 3000 miles away ..but shit ..i get enough of them through facebook ..lol ..just give me sunshine everyday all day & i'm golden ..at the end of the day it boils down to being comfortable with yourself & your surroundings ..for now LA is home ..Europe will be home sometime in the future ..then probably end up in Jersey City ..a complete circle ..lol ..well anyways that's my two cents.
